Description

Our Curious Tea Great Taste Awards ‘The Lucky 8’ contains eight sample pouches of 10g each of our most popular and favourite award-winning teas:

Yin Zhen Guangxi Silver Needle is a delicate and flavoursome Yin Zhen from an unusual terroir in Guangxi Province where the neat silver leaves are picked from Fujian Bai Hao cultivar plants. It produces a fruity and woody liquor with a lasting, clean aftertaste and sweet honey notes. Winner of a 1* Great Taste Award in 2020.

Makinohara Kukicha green tea from Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan is made from a mixture of sencha leaves and stalks, resulting in a sweeter character. It produces a green liquor with a grassy aroma. The verdant sweet profile has satisfying toasted notes and a slightly savoury aftertaste. Winner of a 1* Great Taste Award in 2019.

Nu Er Huan Jasmine Girl Rings is an exceptionally made jasmine scented ‘art tea’ in the shape of small silver rings. Beautiful and strong jasmine fragrance gives way to a lighter sweeter scent on repeated brewing. The liquor is light and smooth with sweet, floral and slightly fruity notes. Winner of a 3* Great Taste Award in 2017.

Da Hong Pao Special Big Red Robe is a traditional, superfine Te Ji grade Banyan Wuyi Rock Oolong from Fujian Province. The dark leaves produce an amber liquor that has a smooth, roasted and stony flavour with long-lasting sweet notes of exotic flowers. Winner of a 1* Great Taste Award in 2020.

Gui Fei Oolong is an exquisite and rare high mountain oolong from Taiwan. The leaves of this ‘beauty tea’ are nibbled by little green leaf hoppers. This results in a supremely unique wild honey flavour, with sweet, floral and woody notes. Winner of a 3* Great Taste Award in 2017.

Wen Shan Bao Zhong is a delightful floral green oolong (pouchong) from Taiwan. Large twisted leaves produce a light liquor with a floral aroma. Similar to a mellow green tea but without any harshness, the taste is smooth with creamy and floral notes. Winner of a 3-Star Great Taste Award and TOP 50 FOODS in 2017.

Ceylon NV Silver Tips is a classic high grade Silver Tips black tea from New Vithanakande tea estate in Sri Lanka. Neat black and silver leaves produce a dark amber liquor. It has a smooth deep character with stony and malty notes of fruits and molasses. Winner of a 2* Great Taste Awards in 2022.

Dian Hong Jin Luo Golden Snail from Yunnan Province of China is produced by rolling tea buds into small golden coils, or snail shapes. The dark amber liquor has a savoury scent of rye and soy. The taste is sweet and malty, like a sweet bread, with notes of cocoa and molasses. Winner of a 3* Great Taste Award in 2017.

We recommend purchasing this gourmet tea selection in gift packaging. This consists of an embossed gift box lined with mulberry paper that makes for an exquisite tea gift. This is the perfect way to present this tea selection to any tea lover.
