This Teas of Taiwan Gift Box contains the following Taiwanese teas:
Four Seasons Oolong is a very floral lightly oxidised oolong from Mingjian Township in Nantou County, Taiwan. Tightly rolled leaves produce a bright light liquor with a lovely honeysuckle fragrance. The flavour profile is smooth and light, with a taste that is floral and sweet with a slightly creamy finish.
Organic Milk Oolong is an award winning tea grown from a ‘Jin Xuan’ cultivar in Mingjian Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. This tea is not flavoured but has a natural mild milky aroma, mouthfeel and taste. The clean liquor has light and sweet notes of cream and almonds.
Gui Fei Oolong is an unfinished version of Gui Fei Oolong, a famous Taiwanese speciality. An unbaked beauty tea, it has that distinctive oriental beauty tea taste, although being much lighter. The flavours are of mild wild honey, with sweet and floral notes.
Deep Baked GABA Oolong is an award winning tea grown and processed in Taiwan for high content of the GABA molecule. It has been heavily roasted, so it has a comforting toasty and nutty flavour with a tart fruity edge.
Yuchi Wild Shan Cha is a rare Shan Cha (or ‘mountain tea’) that comes from a strain of camellia that is native only to Taiwan. Growing wild in Yuchi near Sun Moon Lake, it has a complex profile that makes for a very comforting and unique cup. It tastes a little savoury but is sweet at the same time with notes of honey, cooked fruits and peaches and a very clean finish.
Red Jade GABA from Taiwan is a unique take on a GABA-rich tea that is made from an organically grown ‘Ruby’ or ‘Red Jade’ cultivar. Tightly rolled leaves make a medium strength liquor that is crisp and smooth, with a lingering flavour of raisins, tart fruits and a hint of mint.
