Description

Four Seasons Jasmine Oolong (四季春茉莉烏龍茶) is an expertly scented, lightly oxidised oolong, grown around Mingjian Township in Nantou County, Taiwan. The Four Seasons cultivar used has a naturally floral character that is further highlighted by jasmine scenting. The resulting tea has a bright character with a pronounced jasmine flavour and floral aroma while retaining a balanced taste. March 2023 harvest.

This Jasmine Oolong is named after the cultivar that is used to make it, Si Ji Chun (四季春); which translates as Four Seasons Spring. The cultivar favours low altitude conditions and provides farmers with a consistent crop throughout the whole year. The leaves that are plucked from Si Ji Chun plants have a fresh and light flowery aroma year round, making it particularly suitable for scented flowery oolong teas.

This floral oolong undergoes scenting with fresh jasmine blossom to produce a light, yet flavoursome tea. The smoothness of a lightly oxidised Four Seasons oolong is combined with a heady jasmine aroma to produce a captivating and drinkable cup. Jasmine Oolong is also an interesting alternative to the traditional green and white jasmine scented teas from China.

We source this Four Seasons Jasmine Oolong direct from the farmer in Taiwan. The tightly rolled leaves are interspersed with jasmine flowers. The liquor produced has a bright colour and a floral jasmine aroma. The taste is smooth and refreshing with creamy, floral and sweet jasmine notes. A very satisfying drink, also perfect for making super-refreshing iced tea!
